RUGGED AIR CONDITIONERS

Using a rugged air conditioning unit with high sensible cooling capabilities is essential for effectively cooling electronics in mobile shelter applications, especially in extreme environments. These units are designed to withstand harsh conditions, such as high temperatures, dust, and vibration, ensuring reliable operation wherever they are deployed. The high sensible cooling capacity is particularly important for electronics, as it efficiently removes heat without excessive dehumidification, protecting sensitive equipment from overheating and maintaining optimal performance. This results in improved equipment longevity, reduced downtime, and increased mission readiness, making these rugged AC units a critical component for mobile shelters in demanding operational settings.

AIR COOLED CHILLERS

An air-cooled chiller is a device used to remove heat from a liquid via a vapor-compression cycle and uses ambient air up to 60°C +(140°F) to dissipate heat from the refrigerant. The cooled liquid is then circulated through heat exchangers to cool air and equipment. In direct liquid cooling (DLC) applications such as antennas, radars, lasers, and high-density servers, chillers play a crucial role by providing a steady supply of cooled liquid to absorb and dissipate the intense heat. The systems are designed for harsh mobile environments and allow for electronics packaging density 10X greater than can be accomplished with air conditioning. We used this technology for both the guided-missile destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) and LWSD 150 kW laser weapons systems as well as multiple other cool projects.

DIRECT LIQUID COOLING

Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) is crucial for high-density servers in mobile data centers, laser systems, and antennas as it provides superior cooling efficiency, allowing for greater computing power within constrained shelter footprint. By directly cooling with liquid, DLC effectively removes heat and eliminates hotspots, reducing the risk of thermal throttling and improving component reliability and performance. This method significantly reduces energy. DLC increased component density by up to 10X, allowing 100 kW per rack of density versus 10 kW, which is the maximum for air cooled systems. We integrate chillers, coolant distribution units, rack manifolds, and cold plates to support our high density cooling solutions. We specialize in plumbing that survives mobile shock and vibration, as seen here in one of our trailer applications.

CBRN FILTRATION

CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) filter units are essential for tactical military shelters, providing critical protection against hazardous contaminants in hostile environments. These filter units are designed to remove or neutralize harmful agents from the air, ensuring a safe and breathable atmosphere inside shelters during CBRN threats. By integrating advanced filtration technologies, CBRN filter units offer reliable defense against chemical warfare agents, biological pathogens, radiological particles, and nuclear fallout. The benefits of these systems include safeguarding the health and safety of personnel, maintaining operational readiness during CBRN events, and allowing military forces to sustain operations in contaminated environments without compromising the mission or exposing soldiers to life-threatening hazards.
